Blu Pointe in Newburgh, New York, is the kind of place where happy hour feels like a celebration. Running from 4 to 7 PM, you’ve got to dine in the lounge to enjoy it. The best part? You still get to soak in those beautiful waterfront views, but you’re right in the mix of all the action. The atmosphere is lively and warm, perfect for unwinding after a long day or kicking off a great evening.
Their happy hour menu is a delight for both your taste buds and your wallet. Complimentary at each table is this incredible, fluffy bread that I think is infused with rosemary. It’s served warm, and honestly, it’s so good it might as well be addictive. For a dollar apiece, their oysters are unbeatable. My fiancĂ© (who will very soon be my husband!) and I love to pair them with the garlic and horseradish cocktail sauce they come with, plus a little Tabasco on the side. It’s a trifecta of flavor that we can’t get enough of.
And then there are the prime rib sliders. At just $3 each, these little gems are melt-in-your-mouth tender, stacked with sautĂ©ed mushrooms, onions, and a layer of Swiss cheese. Absolutely incredible. Pair that with a $6 beer or a glass of house red or white wine, and you’re all set. Being a devoted red wine lover, I can vouch that their house red doesn’t disappoint.
While not technically on the happy hour menu, I have to mention their carrot cake. It’s massive—seven layers of pure decadence. We couldn’t resist grabbing a slice to go, and it was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic experience.
Happy hour at Blue Pointe is a must-try, whether you’re looking to celebrate, relax, or just savor some seriously good food and drinks. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again.
